This model is called Viper. It was designed by Dr. Frederick Von Karls back in 1990 and through the years has been slightly modified into the sleek version we see here in this beautiful photograph. Loveless Design Baby Bear Sub Hilt Integral. This is a really small version of Bob Loveless's Big Bear. I had the pleasure of tracing and measuring the first one of these that was commissioned by the famous Loveless collector Al Williams. The handles are Siberian Mastodon. This one of a kind project was created as a fund raiser for the 116th Infantry Regiment & 29th Division Museum in Verona VA. All of the engraving was performed by Jere Davidson and brings to life the history of the 116th that started its life in 1741 as the Augusta County Militia. Here we have the Safari Trio. All 3 pieces were fully engraved by Jere Davidson. The solid steel is CPM154cm. Paul Long created all 3 sheaths out of Shark Skin and Marvin Huey built the fabulous carry case that is french fitted to all 6 items in the case. This is the knife that was commissioned for Richard Petty by his son inlaw Charlie Luck. Jere Davidson performed all of the engraving including the lettering. Linda Karst Stone created the Scrimshaw of Richards Home and his Retreat in Wyoming. There is another email with all of us together for the presentation.
Here is a CKCA benefit knife we created to raise money for Cancer Research called Lungevity and we raised close to $20,000.00. I created the base Integral out of CPM154cm, Steve Johnson did all of the grinding and finishing, Steve enlisted Barry Lee Hands to create the engraving, Wolfgang Lochner created the handles out of Siberian Mastodon that Charles Turnage so graciously donated, Paul Bos donated the heat treating and Chuck Ward donated the photography. Paul Long donated the beautiful leather sheath.
Here is a pair of knives that were commissioned by our dear friend Michael Seay. Jere Davidson created the amazing engraving while Linda Karst Stone created exact likenesses of Michael's favorite Bird Dogs while on the hunt. From the collection of Michael Seay.
Meet Overkill. This piece was drawn from a rough draft I was given by a couple at a show back in the late '90's. After modifying all of the lines it then became reality. Jere Davidson did the engraving then Linda Karst Stone scrimmed the African Big Five and a plains game scene onto Siberian Mastodon. The piece was finished in late 2008 and in the winter of 2009 Paul Shindler purchased it then sold it to Michael Seay.
